Does it feel sometimes that all you do is tweet? Are you having difficulty spending enough time on facebook? Contrary to what you may have heard, in order for social media platforms to be effective you DO need to put a lot of work into them.

Social Media can take over your day if you let it, but if you work smarter, you can actually gain followers and exposure for your business while still having time to complete other tasks on your to-do list.

We use Hootsuite to maximize effectiveness for our clients on their social media platforms. It allows you to post to multiple social media streams including twitter, facebook, facebook pages, Linked In, and now Google+. Although we use the pro account, the two following basic services are available with their free version too.

HootSuite is a social media management system for businesses and organizations to collaboratively execute campaigns across social networks such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Google+ Pages from one secure, web-based dashboard. Advanced functionality includes tools for audience engagement, team collaboration, account security and comprehensive analytics for end-to-end measurement and reporting.

1) Hootsuite Publishing Tool

The secret to achieving balance is scheduling both the time you spend on social platforms and the posts themselves. If you use applications like HootSuite, you can schedule tweets/posts (tips and links you want to share with your followers) throughout the day and let the application do the work for you. If you don’t want to spend time researching, writing and uploading posts for scheduling, CyberCletch can help! Scheduling gives you visibility with potential clients even when you’re away from your computer or smartphone.

It’s important to note, that you should still set aside a time to respond and interact with others on your chosen social media platforms for them to be most effective.

2) Hootlet

Additionally, if you install a bookmarking feature on your browser (a Hootlet), you’ll be able to schedule and post links and updates as you browse the Internet. You can even schedule tweets containing links to useful articles within your niche, as you sift through them in your RSS feed.

If you really want to market your services by increasing your visibility via your social platforms, Hootsuite might be the solution for you.
